Information technology has not only revolutionized human life but has also established a new space called cyberspace. Due to the very nature and structural elements of this space, it has both served humanity and acted as an instrument for committing certain illegal acts. Cyberspace, similar to the real world, has provided a new venue for offenders to commit crimes. In this way, computer offenders target and exploit cyber users. The broad, transboundary nature of these crimes can explain the lack of any effective decisions by different countries in confronting the problem so far. Therefore, this article, considering the need for both national and international support for the victims of cybernetic crimes, seeks to investigate the criminal laws designed to protect such individuals. Unfortunately, the current laws and cybernetic regulations possess a unique nature that requires the formulation of both general and field-specific laws. It is also necessary to indicate that local courts can rely on the principle of international credibility to combat cybernetic crimes and support the victims. However, the existing laws and procedures within both national and international domains are neither sufficient nor effective. Thus, establishing international consensus on various issues—such as developing international treaties, supervising cyberspace, forming international cyber police, creating cyber courts, modifying current computer crime laws, and reevaluating domestic crime investigation procedures—can help overcome the shortcomings in cybernetic laws.
