In every science, certain technical terms are coined and employed for the purpose of facilitating the conveyance of that science’s concepts. However, if this occurs without considering the lexicographical capacity of the common literature of a community, it leads to a dichotomy between technical and common language. This results only in ambiguity and confusion of meanings and concepts when interpreting and applying the propositions of a given discipline. One example of this gross mistake is the usage of the term Dawla (state) in three different meanings: body politic, government, and executive power. This usage has given rise to certain problems concerning the communication of technical concepts into the Persian language. Presuming the phenomenon of confusion of concepts and inefficient homonymy, the present article seeks to propose a mechanism for solving this problem through a descriptive and exploratory survey.
